Last updated: 29 June 2026  ·  Version 1.1
Plain English Summary You use REAL to verify that your online accounts genuinely belong to you. You must be honest, be over 18, and be the real person you claim to be. We provide the service in good faith. Neither of us is trying to catch the other out — but this document sets out what happens if something goes wrong.

Section 01

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using REAL (the "Service") at realverified.co.uk, joining the waitlist, or becoming a member, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and REAL. They apply to all users — whether you are visiting the site, on the waitlist, or an active verified member.

Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and forms part of this agreement.

Section 02

What REAL Is — and Is Not

REAL is an independent cross-platform identity verification platform. It enables individuals to verify their government-issued identity once, link their online accounts across multiple platforms, and receive a unique REAL ID number and public profile that demonstrates genuine ownership of those accounts.

What REAL provides

What REAL does not provide

Important Limitation REAL is a proof layer and source of truth. It cannot prevent fake accounts from being created. It makes fake accounts immediately and permanently identifiable. REAL does not guarantee the removal of impersonating accounts from any platform. REAL does not provide legal services. REAL does not provide law enforcement services.

The value of REAL is that a fake account either has no REAL link — which exposes them — or copies your REAL link — which opens your real verified profile and exposes them. The mechanism works because only you can place a link in your own bio.

REAL cannot prevent bad actors from joining the platform. A person may complete genuine government identity verification and link accounts they use for harmful or fraudulent purposes. REAL is a registry — it records, it does not police conduct. What REAL does is make it significantly harder for bad actors to disappear. A cancelled membership does not erase the verified record associated with it.

Section 03

Eligibility

To use REAL, you must:

REAL is available globally. Where local laws conflict with these Terms, you are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with your local legal requirements.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.

Section 04

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your REAL account and for all activity that occurs under it.

We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.

Section 05

Identity Verification

To become a verified REAL member, you must complete identity verification through our third-party verification partner, Stripe Identity.

By submitting to identity verification, you:

Section 06

Your REAL ID Number

Upon first payment, your membership is created. Your REAL ID number is assigned only once your government identity verification is confirmed. You should understand the following about your REAL ID:

Founding Member Rate The founding member rate of £15/month is locked for the lifetime of a continuous membership. If a founding member cancels and later rejoins, the founding member rate is not guaranteed on return — the standard rate at that time will apply.
Section 07

Billing and Subscriptions

Pricing

Payment

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise REAL to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis. You must keep your payment information current and accurate.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your member dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access until that date. We do not offer partial-month refunds.

Refunds

Given the nature of the service, we do not offer refunds for completed billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at info@realverified.co.uk within 14 days of the charge.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our standard pricing with 30 days' notice. Founding member rates are locked and unaffected by standard price changes.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry and notify you by email. If payment cannot be collected after reasonable attempts, your account may be suspended or terminated. Your REAL ID number will be retired in accordance with Section 6.

Consumer Rights (UK and EU)

If you are based in the UK or EU, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing under consumer protection law. By requesting that the service begin during this period, you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal may be limited or waived. Please contact us if you have questions about your consumer rights.

Section 08

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use REAL in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or in breach of these Terms. Specifically, you must not:

Zero Tolerance Any attempt to fraudulently obtain a REAL ID, impersonate another person through our platform, or deliberately subvert our verification system will result in immediate termination, a permanent ban, and may be reported to law enforcement.
Section 09

Your Public Profile

By becoming a verified REAL member, you agree that the following information will be publicly visible on your REAL profile page at realverified.co.uk/[your-identifier]:

This information is publicly accessible without a REAL account — by design. The entire purpose of REAL is that anyone can check your verified profile in seconds. By joining REAL, you consent to this public disclosure.

Removing Handles

If you lose access to a platform account, are banned, or change handles, you can update your profile. Removed handles are marked as "no longer active" with a timestamp — they are not erased from the trust timeline, as the historical record is part of REAL's integrity.

Section 10

Intellectual Property

The REAL name, shield logo, REAL ID system, platform design, software, and all associated intellectual property belong to REAL and are protected by applicable intellectual property law.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the REAL shield badge and verified profile link for the sole purpose of indicating your verified status, while your membership is active.

You may not:

Your verified name and linked handles remain your own — REAL claims no ownership over your personal information or social media accounts.

Section 11

Limitation of Liability

REAL provides the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer based in the UK or EU, you have statutory rights that cannot be excluded or limited by these Terms. Nothing in this section affects those statutory rights.

Section 12

Termination

Termination by You

You may cancel your membership at any time through your dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Termination by REAL

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your access to the member dashboard ceases at the end of your current billing period. Your REAL ID number is permanently retired and will never be reissued. Your public profile remains visible but is marked as "Verification Lapsed" — it is not deleted. The historical record of your verified platforms and trust timeline is preserved. Financial records are retained for the period required by law.

Data Retention After Cancellation

Cancelling your membership does not erase your verification record. Government identity confirmation, linked platform history, and your trust timeline are retained by REAL after membership ends. This data is kept for fraud prevention, platform integrity, and legal compliance purposes.

If you submit a request to erase your personal data under UK GDPR, REAL will assess that request in full. Where a legitimate legal basis for retention exists — including but not limited to the prevention or investigation of fraud — REAL may retain relevant data despite a deletion request. You will be informed of the outcome and the legal basis relied upon.

The Evidence Does Not Cancel Cancelling a REAL membership does not cancel the evidence associated with it. Government identity confirmation, verified platform links, and the trust timeline remain on record. This protects honest members and ensures that bad actors cannot erase their trail by simply ending their subscription.
Section 13

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of REAL will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer law in your country of residence grants you additional protections.

Dispute Resolution

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, we ask that you contact us at info@realverified.co.uk to allow us to resolve the matter informally. We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and promptly.

EU and UK Consumers

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. UK consumers may also refer disputes to relevant alternative dispute resolution (ADR) schemes.

Section 14

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as the Service evolves or as required by law. When we make material changes:

If you do not agree with updated Terms, you may cancel your membership before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

For waitlist members, updates will be communicated by email.
